What type of festival is ShebFest?
‘Established by the Skinner family in 2015, Sheb Fest is North Devon’s very own family-friendly, independent music festival. Two days of live music across two stages, as well as local food and drink, makes for the perfect way to end the summer and it has become an annual tradition for many people across the south west and beyond.
Having started in 2015 with just 500 visitors, Sheb Fest has grown dramatically over the last nine years and now has over 3,000 visitors each year.
The festival is situated in the rolling Devonshire countryside on the Skinner’s working beef farm. Dave and Sue Skinner, alongside sons Toby and Ryan, still run the festival completely independently.’ - ShebFest
Why did we choose ShebFest?
ShebFest is a super local festival to us. Most of the team here have attended the festival over the past few years with friends or family, lapping up the easy-going vibes it brings. This year, the Luma team decided this would be a great way to spend a weekend together - selling our sunnies, with our friends and families in tow.
Were there any crazy adventures?
It was a pretty crazy ride, we met Ellie Sax and the incredible Ministry of Sound team on Friday. They came over to check out our stand and all left donning Luma Eyewear sunglasses! They were great fun, posing for lots of photos and socials and later invited the team back stage after their gig (which was unbelievable). We even had a beer on the tour bus with them!
On Saturday, The Zutons popped in for a chat, also all leaving wearing our sunnies. They are lovely, bubbly people and meeting our platinum-selling hero's was a real treat.
Lastly, our local buddies and all time favourite sing your heart out band, The Wreckords. The midday crowd for these guys was unheard of. Everyone singing, dancing and cheering along, these guys know how to entertain. Plus, styling turquoise suits with Luma sunnies was brilliant.
Top highlights:
Definitely check the food stands out, there was an amazing variety to keep you going throughout the weekend, even for fussy eaters. The late night DJ’s and Saturday Night Dance Club were brilliant for keeping the party going. Lastly, the wellbeing area has endless child friendly activities.
Why come back to ShebFest next year?
Catching up with old friends and making new ones. Listening to music sat in a camping chair in the sunshine. Incredible food and family friendly activities. The list goes on. Thanks ShebFest for an awesome time!
