Understanding Your Glasses Frame Measurements
Because finding the perfect fit should be crystal clear.
At Luma, we’re all about making eyewear simple and confidence-boosting - from your first click to your final fit. That’s why understanding frame measurements matters. It’s not just about style (though we’ve got that covered too), it’s about comfort, balance, and seeing clearly every step of the way.
First things first: What are frame measurements?
When you look inside the temple arm of your glasses (that’s the bit that goes over your ear), you’ll usually find a tiny set of numbers, something like 52□18 140. That’s your glasses’ DNA, and here is what it means:
Lens Width (52mm) – How wide each lens is. This is key for how the frames sit on your face.

Bridge Width (18mm) – The space between the lenses—essentially, how your frames rest on your nose.

Temple Length (140mm) – The length of the arms, running from the hinge to behind your ear.

Think of it like the fit of your favourite hoodie - cozy but not too tight, stylish but totally you.
Why does it matter?
Getting the right measurements means:
Your glasses stay put (no slipping!)
Your lenses align properly with your eyes
You get all-day comfort - no pinching, no pressure
Luma Tip: Know your fit zone
If you already have a pair of glasses that fits great, check their measurements and look for similar numbers when browsing. Not sure where to start? Look for frames labeled small, medium, or large. We’ve added those tags to make shopping even easier.
